Agreement and Non-Agreement States
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulates radioactive materials in some states. Many other states have agreed to regulate these materials themselves and are referred to as Agreement States (AS). If you would like to know whether or not you reside in an Agreement State click on this LINK and then check the map on the page. Click on your state within the map that is presented for contact information about your state regulators and references for your state's rules and regulations.
Non Agreement States are regulated by the NRC. Click on this LINK to access the regulations under which the NRC operates. These regulations are referred to as Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part XX, which is reduced to 10 CFR XX.
