CAP ON CEU's FROM APPLICATIONS TRAINING

Sarah Johnson and Kathy Thomas published from the Society of Medicine’s Voice Box a reminder about an important update on CE credits.  Effective January 1, 2011 the ARRT is going to cap the number of continuing education credits that a person can receive for applications training.  The cap will be eight credit hours per biennium.  (It does not apply to applications training at corporate offices or online training.)  A significant point is the NMTCB and individual licensing states have not set a similar cap.  So if 24 hours is needed to recertify and it contains more than 8 CEU’s of applications training, the ARRT will not accept all 24 hours even though the NMTCB or the state will.  If an individual is using the ARRT route to satisfy a state requirement, they may come up short.
