Occasionally questions are raised concerning the "scope of practice" for NMT’s as it pertains to the NMT’s administering pharmaceuticals for studies, i.e. CCK, Lasix, persantine, adenosine, Lexascan, etc. The Scope of Practice is the phrasing that continually comes up when questioning what NMT’s can’t administer. Refer to page 9 in the link below. NMT's can administer many "Adjunctive Medications" related to their studies under the eyes of the SNM. This can of course be over-ruled internally, or by state law, but here is supportive documentation for some in that fight.
